There seems to be some confusion regarding the timing of the launch of the 2012 Mitsubishi i. Therefore, we're hoping this post will make sense of Mitsubishi's game plan.
Last November, Mitsubishi announced the $27,990 i would launch in fall of 2011. Then, in April 2011, the Japanese automaker starting taking orders for the electric i and told AutoblogGreen that the first demo units would arrive at dealerships this November and that customer deliveries of the electric hatchback would commence in January 2012.
While much of that info still holds true, Mitsubishi now says that the curvaceous i will be "arriving in early 2012." What this means is that buyers won't get their i until "early 2012" or later. This has no impact on those dealer demo units, which will arrive on schedule this November. Got it?
