Last Monday, Russia's Yo-Avto, the joint venture owned by billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov's Onexim Group and by Yarovit Motors, told Russia Today that the automaker's trio of natural gas hybrid yo-mobiles (Yo CrossCoupe, Yo Microvan and Yo Furgon) are sold out... for ten years! Prokhorov did not specify the exact number of reservations Yo-Avto has logged for the natural gas hybrids, but we'd assume that pre-orders now exceed the claimed 122,800 that the automaker announced in mid-June.
According to Yo-Avto, the base price for its trio of hybrids ranges from 350,000 to 450,000 rubles ($12,393 to $15,934 U.S. at the current exchange rate). The yo-mobiles boast a claimed top speed of 75 miles per hour, a cruising range of 249 miles and an estimated fuel economy rating of 67 miles per gallon.
Yo-Avto says that production of yo-mobiles will commence during the second half of 2012 with output from its St. Petersburg factory initially pegged at 45,000 units a year.
